In order to prevent wallowing in self-pity and whining about all the things that I had planned to do this week before my trip to Ghana was pushed back due to paperwork delays...Tim and I have decided to label the next 7 days our "bonus week."
My lesson plans are done. My packing is finished. My goodbyes are over. Really, this week is kind of a freebie.
Here's how we spent our weekend:

Clockwise, from left:
We are determined to make this week a great one, knowing that every day brings us one step closer to spending forever with our little boy.
- lounging on our overstufffed couch in sweats for hours
- baking 100 triple chocolate PB swirl cookies for no reason
- devouring an entire novel and copious amounts of extra dark coffee
- celebrating our little man at a fabulous shower with close friends
- opening our new carseat (way scarier than the crib!)
- snuggling our first baby, Griff (and kicking him out of the nursery)
- snowshoeing at sunset on the trails near our house
