To the children of Zeeland, this was just a pile of candy canes. To the children of Ghana, this was Christmas cheer.
Three classes from ZPS joined together and decorated candy canes to send to the children at the Offin Children's Center in Ghana. Mrs. Boehm's 1st graders, Mrs. Moore's 2nd graders, and my 1st graders spent an afternoon before Christmas break putting personalized tags on almost 100 candy canes.
Tim and I were able to distribute these candy canes, and their sweet messages of hope and joy, during our visit to the orphanage. The children there do not get candy very often, and it was the first time that most of the kids had ever seen a candy cane!

Thanks, Woodbridge and New Groningen kiddos!
