The theme of this entire journey has been letting go of control. Once again, God has shown that his plans are higher than ours.
Allie will be returning home tomorrow - much sooner than expected - with a broken heart but a very clear mission.
She is already beginning to take the next steps on the vision that the Lord gave her just a few days ago, and coming home this week will allow her to do the most good in the place - and for the people - that have stolen her heart. She is deeply discouraged about leaving Eli for a third time, but is clinging to the assurance that this vision and new mission is from God. We have prayed for the boldness and confidence to make the decision that will allow us to bless the most people, and it has been confirmed over and over again that returning home now is the right choice.
By leaving Ghana now, Allie is allowing Mary (the orphanage director) to take her place. Mary will be able to easily, safely, and joyfully bring Eli home once his Visa is printed. Mary has been longing for the opportunity to travel to the US and visit "her children" who have previously been adopted, and this adjustment to the plan will make that financially possible for her. She will also be able to bring her biological grandson back here with her so that he can begin school in the US in the fall.

Mary is incredibly excited about the opportunity to personally spend time here in the US very soon. She understands that Allie's decision to come home now will allow her to jump-start the vision that will eventually benefit the orphanage and school in a greater way. Allie has received great encouragement from Mary in this and we are very grateful for the confirmation that this is the right next step to take.
Please pray for Allie's hurting heart as she says goodbye to Eli again, her God given aspirations, and her safe travel with my mom. Our prayer is still that Eli will be home with us very, very soon.
