We just received the phone call this morning: our court date has been scheduled for Monday, December 17!
We will be leaving for Ghana this Saturday and will spend one week in the country that we've grown to love. If all goes well, our sweet son will share our last name before Christmas!
While we are praising God for the timing of all of this, we are also realizing that we need to trust Him more deeply than ever before. This is a very quick trip with very large goals; but we are praying and believing that He can - and will - work miracles. Amen?!
Please join us in praying for the following requests:
-That all of the required people will not only show up, but will be agreeable and acting in Baby E's best interest in the courtroom
-That our lawyer and all of the officials will represent us well -That the judge will rule honorably and favorably!
-That our adoption decree will be printed quickly and without mistakes
-That we will be granted an appointment to file our I600 (one of the final documents) at the US Embassy before we leave on Friday
-That we will be able to continue the bonding process with Baby E over the course of the week
-That we will all stay healthy this time!
Additionally, please continue to pray for our finances as they relate to this process. We have been so blown away by the ways that God has used people around us to bless us lately, and we can clearly see how He is mobilizing others to join in this mission of orphan care. We just completely wiped out the remainder of our adoption account (!!!) in order to purchase the plane tickets for this trip, but we are believing that this is all part of a greater story -- one where dollars do not have the final say.
Side note: How many people are really going to Ghana for Christmas anyway?? Did our plane tickets honestly need to double in price from 3 weeks ago?! I digress...
In looking ahead, we know that we will take one more trip to Ghana in order to fulfill obligations at the US Embassy, and then we will finally be able to bring our little guy home. The rest of this process could be anywhere from one month to quite a few months...but once again, this control freak is trying to let go of the reins.
Thanks, as always, for your support and prayers.
We couldn't imagine doing this without you!
