Sunburned, crazy haired, absolutely exhausted, quite sick, and completely heartbroken.
But also incredibly filled.
We also lived in the world of 85 other orphans who call the Offin Children's Centre their home, and that is how the holy happened.
Friends, this most recent trip to Ghana changed me more deeply, completely, and instantly than any other event in my 27 years of life. I am unshakably confident of the new calling and vision that God placed in my soul last week and I believe wholeheartedly that every experience of my life has been preparing me for this particular purpose and mission that I am about to undertake.
In almost 17 years of operation, the Offin Children's Centre/Blessed Child School has never had the support of a single government or non-government organization in Ghana or abroad. They have existed solely on the donations of individuals, churches, and families. I am excited about the opportunity to create a sustainable partnership that, with God's help, will support the orphanage and school well into the future.
This organization, Emmanuel's Land, will be named after our sweet son, Elias Emmanuel, whose story will remain forever intertwined with that of the orphanage, the school, and the faithful servants who lead, support, and run both.
