This afternoon, after I got off the phone with Allie - I received the following in a text message:
"I haven't showered since Sunday and my ponytail no longer requires a hair tie, but our baby boy consistently calls me "mama" now and that makes it all worth it."

Being with Eli and yet living in the day to day of the orphanage is absolutely amazing and life changing, but also intensely difficult. Allie must watch our son be comforted by his preteen caretakers at the times when he has not yet learned to accept it from her. There will be so many habits and hurts to heal once our little man is home. But, for now, we are counting little victories each day and are trusting in God's future for us.
Please join us again in praying that our I-600 petition would be approved today so we can enter our final steps in bringing Eli home.
Thank you all so much for your encouraging words and prayers for us during this week. While I try to remain supremely hopeful - this road is often a lonely longing for a future that seems so far away. But, our God is strong and mighty and moves mountains to bring together his loved ones. I am trusting that He will do just that.
I hope to have another picture or two for you all tomorrow.
