We will be in Ghana with our baby boy!
For those of you who have been praying (thank you!), not much has changed on the legal/governmental side of things over the past week. But, our plan has always been to keep moving forward with Blessed Assurance, and we are. We could not be more excited to spend the week of Thanksgiving with Baby E! We have nothing on our agenda except to finally love on that sweet little boy whose picture is permanently etched in our minds.

As things stand right now, it looks like we will be making our second trip to Ghana sometime in January. On this visit, we will go to court and stay until our adoption decree is printed and we can file our final batch of paperwork. If we stay long enough, we may be able to bring Baby E home after this trip; if not, we will make a third trip sometime shortly after that.
Our biggest prayer requests right now are for continued favor with the Ghanaian officials, safe travels, powerful and immediate bonding with our son, and finances as we move forward.
A note about finances:
This entire process has completely changed the way that we think about, value, give, and spend money. We have learned how to praise God when the money is there and when it is not. But here’s the deal: we are hoping to stay in Ghana for an extended period of time this winter/spring. We have received encouragement and (unpaid) support from both of our employers, but feel limited by silly things like our mortgage and student loans. {Blah.} We are still weighing our options, but truly believe that if God's desire is for us to keep our family on the same continent for those few months, He will provide a way for that to happen. Now to work on fighting the urge to always stay one step ahead of Him...
